SUMMER ENVY

This may or may not be a good day to think of the Southern Hemisphere enjoying summer.  This is an outtake from a commercial shoot that took place outside of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Smiles like this aren't abundant in Northern Michigan when it's 0 deg. Fahrenheit.

ON-LOCATION AT SIREN HALL

We just wrapped the Flatout Flatbread wrap shoot.  The new Flatout packaging should be in stores nationwide shortly.  Special thanks to chef & food stylist, Michael Peterson (owner of Siren Hall, Lulu's, Anchor Station and Antrim Catering).  We were lucky to have him whipping-up some delicious-looking wraps, AND for hosting our mobile studio in the dining room of Siren Hall.  Following are a few behind the scenes photos of Michael Peterson and Stacey Marsh, owner of Flatout, hard at-work wrap-building...

NORTHERN EXPRESS COVER & BEHIND-THE-SCENES

A very collaborative effort went into producing this week's Northern Express Cover.  Special thanks to Alicia Caldecott & her awesome crew from A Day In May Events for doing most of sourcing and hauling of props.  Big thanks to John Robert Williams for the use of his spacious studio.  And, as always, big thanks to big Ben Law for assisting me and keeping me on-track -- and for documenting the shoot.

STUDIO LIGHTING TEST

My assistant, Ben Law, standing-in for a lighting test last week for an elaborate portrait set-up at John Robert Williams' studio.  Big thanks to John for use of the space!  More details on the job soon...
